Korean Society on Water Environment founded in 1985 is an academic society aiming to promote the academic development and technology development in the field of water environment related to water quality control and water & drainage and the friendship among members.

Journal of Korean Society on Water Environment is the official title of journal of our society. Abbreviated title is 'J. Korean Soc. Water Environ.'. Korean Society on Water Environment published 'Journal of Korean Society of Water Pollution Research and Control' to evaluate and distribute academic research in the area of water environment by a fair and rigorous peer review procedure in 1985. The paper title was amended as 'Journal of Korean Society of Water Quality' in June 1998 and re-amended as 'Journal of Korean Society on Water Quality' with the pISSN 122-4144 in June 1999. The paper was again renamed as 'Korean Society on Water Environment' in January 2012. The pISSN number was changed into '2289-0971' with eISSN of 2289-098X in May 2014.

The manuscript to be printed in the journal is divided into Research Paper, Review Paper, Technical Note, Special Issue, Discussion, etc concerning the topic for water quality control and a Korean or English manuscript is accepted. Provided that, the title, the lead author, belonging, contract, abstract, Key Words, reference, table and figure should be in English.

It is published for six times a year (on 30st day of Jan., Mar., May, Jul., Sep., and Nov.).
